Further Stages — Show Term
This term, our Further Stages students step into their Show Term, taking on the challenge of producing Fame JR. — a more advanced production designed to stretch and challenge our older students.
Over the coming terms, students will develop their performance skills, characterisation, vocal technique, choreography and stagecraft, while working as an ensemble to bring the production together.
Students will also explore the audition process, taking part in character and audition workshops designed to help them understand how to prepare, make strong performance choices and respond to feedback — skills they can carry forward into future auditions and performance opportunities.
As a Further Stages company, students will be expected to take greater responsibility for their own development and contribution to the production. They’ll explore what it takes to work professionally as an ensemble, support their fellow performers, work safely backstage and understand the commitment required to take a production from the rehearsal room to the stage.
Performing at The Lamproom Theatre
The production will be performed at The Lamproom Theatre, Barnsley, giving our Further Stages students the opportunity to experience performing in a professional theatre environment.
The company will perform one full production of Fame JR. at the end of Febuary, early March, with the exact performance dates listed on the SHOWTIME page.
We’re excited to challenge our Further Stages students, develop their confidence and independence, and give them the opportunity to experience the demands and excitement of producing a more advanced musical.
